John Seibel, GoCyber Collective Executive DirectorJohn Seibel brings a rare blend of broadcast expertise, public trust, and community commitment to his role as Executive Director of GoCyber Collective. A seasoned journalist and former national sports broadcaster, John transitioned from the anchor desk to nonprofit leadership to champion cybersecurity education and resilience across Ohio and beyond.

Drawing on his years in television and radio at ESPN, in Alaska, Pittsburgh and most recently as a trusted anchor at Dayton’s WDTN, John now leads initiatives that empower schools, families, small businesses, law enforcement, critical infrastructure and local governments to navigate the digital world safely. Under his leadership, GoCyber Collective has launched impactful programs such as Healthy Digital Families, Safe Senior Surfing, Cyber 101 for Law Enforcement, Introduction to Cybersecurity for Water Operators and hands-on Capture the Flag events for students and professionals.

John’s ability to connect with diverse audiences is rooted in decades of public-facing service. He has been the official emcee for the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the Dayton VA National Cemetery since 2014, served as the spokesperson and fundraiser for the Veterans’ Plaza project in Kettering, Ohio. He also served six years on the board of the Miami Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), further underscoring his commitment to mentorship, values-driven leadership, and civic engagement.

Before entering broadcasting, John served in the U.S. Air Force, working in Early-Warning Missile Defense for NORAD in Colorado Springs. He is a proud graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University and a multi-award-winning broadcaster.

Today, he brings the same storytelling instincts and steady presence that defined his journalism career to the mission of making cybersecurity understandable, relevant, and actionable for everyone.

He lives in Springboro, Ohio, with his wife Heather and their three children.
